Te
Popo Gardens is 34 acres of woodland, garden and native forest named
after the area. A Maori name for "lullaby", Te Popo is a
peaceful country retreat of great beauty filled with birdsong. It is one
of New Zealand's Gardens of National Significance.
Nestled in the lush countryside of Taranaki, the Homestead has a
distinctive character and style.
With its medieval air, the main house features massive beams,
fireplaces, antique furniture, handcrafted light fittings, and a
fascinating art collection. Guests are most welcome to use the extensive
library in the lounge room and to share dinner with hosts in the
adjacent dining room.
Separated by a large courtyard, the Guest Wing houses four
individually-appointed, spacious suites, each with private entrance and
access to garden at the rear. The contemporary styling is most appealing
- comfortable, warm, quiet and relaxing.
Guests who wish to self cater are welcome to use the fully equipped
conservatory kitchen.
